Supernumerary Position definition

Supernumerary Position designates a faculty position that is an additional allocation to a Department or program that shall not be considered a position for the purpose of establishing allotments under Article 10.1.20(a) hereof.
Supernumerary Position means a newly created temporary full-time position that is above the current complement of nursing positions funded by the Province of Ontario;

  • Despite Section 5.5, if the Employer moves the New Graduate Nurse into a permanent full-time position after the New Graduate Nurse has worked in the Supernumerary Position for a period of 12 weeks, the Ministry shall continue to flow the Funding provided for in the Budget for such New Graduate Nurse and the Employer may use the Funding for Other Nursing Initiatives.

  • Despite anything in the Agreement to the contrary, the Employer may terminate the New Graduate Nurse’s employment if the Employer, acting reasonably and using professional judgment, considers the New Graduate Nurse to be unsuitable in the Supernumerary Position.
