The parties to this Agreement recognize that if the College has been unsuccessful in obtaining Temporary Replacement Employees, College operations may require the assignment of work that necessitates Regular Part-Time Employees to perform work at another campus, which is not the employee's regularly assigned workplace due to emergency circumstances beyond the College's reasonable control.
Temporary Replacement Employees shall only be covered by the following provisions of this Collective Agreement: 3, 4, 5.06, 11, 15.06, 17.01, 21.07, 21.08 and Appendix A, and shall have the right to grieve the violation of these articles.
The committee will also discuss and determine uniform entitlements for Temporary Replacement Employees.
After seventeen (17) weeks of continuous service, Temporary Replacement Employees shall receive a safety boot allowance to a maximum of Two Hundred Dollars ($200) per year, which shall be paid to the Temporary Replacement Employee upon provision of proof of purchase and the appropriate expense sheet.
Temporary Replacement Employees shall be entitled to one (1) paid personal day for every seventeen (17) continuous weeks of service up to a maximum of three (3) personal days per calendar year.
Compensation for such Temporary Replacement Employees shall be as follows: • Temporary Replacement Employees shall be compensated at Step 1 of the applicable classification for which they have been assigned, and eligible for pay progression per Schedule A – Wage Scale.
After seventeen (17) weeks of continuous service, Temporary Replacement Employees shall receive a CSA approved safety boot allowance to a maximum of Two Hundred and Seventy-Five Dollars ($275) per year, which shall be paid to the Temporary Replacement Employee upon provision of proof of purchase and the appropriate expense sheet.
Section 3: In the event of a necessary reduction in the work force, the Board shall first lay off Temporary Replacement Employees (TRE), next probationary employees, part-time employees in the maintenance classification, then the least senior employee within each classification provided the remaining employees are qualified utilizing the current job description, have the necessary skills, and meet the IEPC requirements to perform the work in the remaining positions.
Temporary Replacement Employees shall only be covered by the following provisions of this collective agreement: 2; 4.03; 15; 16;24.01 (b), 25, 26.02, Schedule A (except Heavy Equipment Operator Rate) and shall have the right to grieve the violation of these articles.
