Toxic chemical definition

Toxic chemical means a chemical or chemical category listed in 40 CFR 372.65.
Toxic chemical means any chemical which through its chemical action on life processes can cause death, temporary incapacitation or permanent harm to humans or animals. This includes all such chemicals, regardless of their origin or of their method of production, and regardless of whether they are produced in facilities, in munitions or elsewhere.
Toxic chemical hazardous material," "toxic substance" or "hazardous chemical" under (i) CERCLA; (ii) the Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act, 42 U.S.C. Section 11001 et seq.; (iii) the Hazardous Materials Transportation Act, 49 U.S.C. Section 1801, et seq.; (iv) the Toxic Substances Control Act, 15 U.S.C. Section 2601 et seq.; (v) the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970, 29 U.S.C. Section 651 et seq.; (vi) regulations promulgated under any of the above statutes; or (vii) any other applicable federal, state or local statute, ordinance, rule or regulation that has a scope or purpose similar to those identified above.
