Toxic or Hazardous Substances definition

Toxic or Hazardous Substances shall also mean any substance that after release into the environment upon exposure, ingestion, inhalation or assimilation, either directly from the environment or indirectly by ingestion through food chains, will or may reasonably be anticipated to cause death, disease, behavior abnormalities, cancer or genetic abnormalities. "Toxic or Hazardous Substance" specifically includes, but not limited to, asbestos, polychorinated biphenyls (PCBs), petroleum and petroleum based derivatives and urea formaldehyde.
Toxic or Hazardous Substances means 1) substances, chemicals or materials in concentrations regulated under any applicable federal, state, local or foreign statute, law, rule or regulation; 2) regulated concentrations of petroleum and petroleum products, radioactive materials, asbestos in any form that is or could become friable, urea formaldehyde, polychlorinated biphenyls and radon gas; and 3) any other substances, chemical or materials in concentrations with respect to which a federal, state, local or foreign agency requires environmental investigation, monitoring, reporting or remediation.
Toxic or Hazardous Substances specifically includes, but is not limited to, asbestos, polychlorinated, biphenyls (PCBs), petroleum based derivatives, and urea formaldehyde.

  • Hazardous Substance means any chemical, pollutant, waste or substance that is (a) listed, classified or regulated under any Environmental Law as hazardous substance, toxic substance, pollutant, contaminant or oil or (b) any petroleum product or by product, asbestos containing material, polychlorinated biphenyls or radioactive material.
