In New Jersey the Higher Education Assistance Authority defines a full-time course load as 12 credits. Therefore, two years of higher education would equate to a total of 48 credits, exclusive of any credits earned in remedial or developmental courses. Credits do not have to be earned over a period of two consecutive years.

  • Years of Service means the total number of full years in which a Participant has been employed by one or more Employers. For purposes of this definition, a year of employment shall be a 365 day period (or 366 day period in the case of a leap year) that, for the first year of employment, commences on the Employee's date of hiring and that, for any subsequent year, commences on an anniversary of that hiring date.   • Planning Period means the 12 moths beginning June 1 and extending through May 31 of the following year, or such other period approved by the Members Committee.
