Underground Works definition

Underground Works means the Services described in Subsection 8.31.2; and ““Works” means Services within the Lands and includes items described on Schedule “D”.
Underground Works means all Construction Works that occur beneath the natural surface of the earth and within an enclosed space.
Underground Works means: 1) all underground Municipal Services including but not limited to the water supply and distribution system, sanitary sewage system, electrical distribution system, storm sewer system and drainage works; and 2) all road granulars and the base course of asphalt; subject only to any minor deficiencies that are not considered sufficient by the Municipal Engineer to delay the issuance of a Certificate of Substantial Completion.

Examples of Underground Works in a sentence

  • Utility locates are not a guarantee of the location of, or existence of, Underground Works and as a result damage to Underground Works may occur.

  • Unknown undersurface conditions, including underground utility services, tanks, pipes, cables and other works (Underground Works) may be present at the site.

  • CLIENT recognizes that the use of utility locates is not a guarantee or warranty that Underground Works may not be damaged and acknowledges that Keystone is not responsible for any damage caused to Underground Works or the repair of such damage or any resulting or related damage and any costs related to such damage.

  • Keystone will conduct utility locates to obtain available information regarding the location of Underground Works in accordance with industry practice.

  • Keystone relies on utility locates and Client provided “as- built” and record drawings to determine the location and existence of Underground Works.

  • Prior to the Certificate of Completion and Acceptance of Underground Works being issued, the Developer shall undertake through a qualified testing company, watermain flow testing and complete the appropriate colour coding of the fire hydrants in accordance with the Town Standards.

  • CLIENT recognizes that the use of utility locates is not a guarantee or warranty that Underground Works may not be damaged and acknowledges that Keystone Environmental is not responsible for any damage caused to Underground Works or the repair of such damage or any resulting or related damage and any costs related to such damage.

  • Keystone Environmental will conduct utility locates to obtain available information regarding the location of Underground Works in accordance with industry practice.

  • Such policy or policies shall include the Town as an additional insured and a certified copy of such insurance shall be delivered to the Town and be in full force and effect until a Certificate of Completion and Acceptance of Aboveground Works or a Certificate of Completion and Acceptance of Underground Works has been issued by the Town Engineer for all Services required pursuant to this Agreement and a Certificate of Maintenance and Final Acceptance has been issued by the Town in respect of such Services.

  • This form is to be used to record the thorough examination of Excavations, Shafts, Earthworks, Underground Works, Tunnels Cofferdams or Caissons.

Related to Underground Works

  • Underground tank means a device meeting the definition of tank whose entire surface area is totally below the surface of and covered by the ground.

  • Underground area means an underground room, such as a basement, cellar, shaft or vault, providing enough space for physical inspection of the exterior of the tank situated on or above the surface of the floor.

  • Underground mining means all methods of mining other than surface mining.

  • Underground storage tank or “UST” means any one or combination of tanks (including underground pipes connected thereto) that is used to contain an accumulation of regulated substances, and the volume of which (including the volume of underground pipes connected thereto) is 10 percent or more beneath the surface of the ground. This term does not include any:

  • Underground injection means the subsurface emplacement of fluids through a bored, drilled or driven well; or through a dug well, where the depth of the dug well is greater than the largest surface dimension. (See also “injection well”.)

  • Underground facility means any item which shall be buried or placed below ground for use in connection with the storage or conveyance of water, sewage, electronic, telephone or telegraphic communications, electric energy, oil, gas or other substances, and shall include, but not be limited to pipes, sewers, conduits, cables, valves, lines, wires, manholes, attachments and those portions of poles and their attachments below ground.

  • Underground storage means storage of gas in a subsurface stratum or formation of the earth.

  • Sewage Works means all facilities for collecting, pumping, treating, and disposing of sewage.

  • Aboveground storage tank shall have the meaning ascribed to such term in Section 6901 et seq., as amended, of RCRA, or any applicable state or local statute, law, ordinance, code, rule, regulation, order ruling, or decree governing aboveground storage tanks.

  • Underground storage tank system means an underground storage tank and the connected underground piping, underground ancillary equipment, and containment system, if any.

  • Hazardous substance UST system means an UST system that contains a hazardous substance defined in section 101(14) of the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Act of 1980 (but not including any substance regulated as a hazardous waste under subtitle C) or any mixture of such substances and petroleum, and which is not a petroleum UST system.

  • The Works/Project means the works to be executed or done under this contract.

  • Site Improvements means any construction work on, or improvement to, streets, roads, parking facilities, sidewalks, drainage structures and utilities.

  • Tanks has the meaning set forth in Section 4.12(b).

  • Underground source of drinking water means an aquifer or its portion:

  • Private Improvements means the improvements to be constructed on the Property that are not Public Improvements.

  • Licensee Improvements means any enhancement to or modification or improvement of the Licensed Patents and/or the Proprietary Information created by or on behalf of Licensee and/or any of its subsidiaries.

  • drainage work means any watercourse and includes any land which is expected to provide flood storage capacity for any watercourse and any bank, wall, embankment or other structure, or any appliance, constructed or used for land drainage or flood defence;

  • Contaminated site means a site where there is a confirmed presence, caused by man, of hazardous substances of such a level that they pose a significant risk to human health or the environment taking into account current and approved future use of the land;

  • The Works/ Project means the works to be executed or done under this contract.

  • The Works means the work or works to be executed or done under this contract.

  • Contaminated soil means soil that meets all of the following criteria:

  • Installation Works means, as the context so requires,

  • Infrastructure Improvements means a street, road, sidewalk, parking facility, pedestrian mall, alley, bridge, sewer, sewage treatment plant, property designed to reduce, eliminate, or prevent the spread of identified soil or groundwater contamination, drainage system, waterway, waterline, water storage facility, rail line, utility line or pipeline, transit-oriented development, transit-oriented property, or other similar or related structure or improvement, together with necessary easements for the structure or improvement, owned or used by a public agency or functionally connected to similar or supporting property owned or used by a public agency, or designed and dedicated to use by, for the benefit of, or for the protection of the health, welfare, or safety of the public generally, whether or not used by a single business entity, provided that any road, street, or bridge shall be continuously open to public access and that other property shall be located in public easements or rights-of-way and sized to accommodate reasonably foreseeable development of eligible property in adjoining areas. Infrastructure improvements also include 1 or more of the following whether publicly or privately owned or operated or located on public or private property:

  • Demolition works means any physical activity to tear down or break up a structure (or part thereof) or surface, or the like, and includes the loading of demolition waste and the unloading of plant or machinery.

  • mining areas means the areas delineated and coloured red on the Plan marked “A” initialled by or on behalf of the parties hereto for the purposes of identification;
