Use Disorder means a disease that is characterized by a pattern of pathological use of a drug with repeated attempts to control the use, and with negative consequences in at least one of the following areas of life: medical, legal, financial, or psycho-social.

  • Division policy regarding Behavioral Health/Substance Use Disorder Services is referenced in the Mississippi Administrative Code, Title 23, Part 206, but other sections of the code may also reference Behavioral Health/Substance Use Disorder Services.

  • The CONTRACTOR shall use the ICD-10 diagnosis code(s) to submit a claim for specialty mental health services to receive reimbursement of Federal Financial Participation (FFP) in accordance with the covered diagnoses for reimbursement of outpatient and inpatient Medi-Cal specialty mental health services listed in Mental Health and Substance Use Disorder Services (MHSUDS) Information Notice 17-004E.

  • All Behavioral Health/Substance Use Disorder Services covered by the Division for enrolled populations that are medically necessary must be covered.

  • Detoxification Covered Services received for detoxification are not subject to the Substance Use Disorder Treatment provisions specified above.

  • Behavioral health disorder means either a mental disorder

  • Service Animal means an animal that is required by a person with a disability for assistance and is certified, in writing, as having been trained by a professional service animal institution to assist a person with a disability and which is properly harnessed in accordance with standards established by a professional service animal institution.

  • Disease means an alteration in the state of the body or of some of its organs, interrupting or disturbing the performance of the functions, and causing or threatening pain and weakness or physical or mental disorder and certified by a Medical Practitioner.

  • Mental, Nervous or Psychological Disorder means a mental or nervous health condition including, but not limited to: anxiety, depression, neurosis, phobia, psychosis; or any related physical manifestation.

  • Diagnosis means the definition of the nature of the Client's disorder. When formulating the Diagnosis of Client, CONTRACTOR shall use the diagnostic codes and axes as specified in the most current edition of the DSM published by the American Psychiatric Association. DSM diagnoses will be recorded on all IRIS documents, as appropriate.

  • Intimidating, threatening, abusive, or harming conduct means, but is not limited to, conduct that does the following:

  • Autism spectrum disorder means a neuro-developmental condition typically appearing in the first three years of life that significantly affects a person's ability to communicate, understand relationships and relate to others, and is frequently associated with unusual or stereotypical rituals or behaviours.

  • COVID-19 symptoms means fever of 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit or higher, chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, or diarrhea, unless a licensed health care professional determines the person’s symptoms were caused by a known condition other than COVID-19.

  • Pain means an unpleasant sensory and emotional experience associated with actual or potential tissue damage or described in terms of such damage. Pain is an individual, multifactorial experience influenced by culture, previous pain events, beliefs, mood and ability to cope.

  • Wildlife habitat means a surface water of the state used by plants and animals not considered as pathogens, vectors for pathogens or intermediate hosts for pathogens for humans or domesticated livestock and plants.

  • Inherited Metabolic Disorder means a disease caused by an inherited abnormality of body chemistry that meets all of the following requirements:

  • Emotional abuse means behavior that could harm a child's emotional development, such as threatening, intimidating, humiliating, demeaning, criticizing, rejecting, using profane language, or using inappropriate physical restraint.

  • Chronic delinquency" shall mean failure by Tenant to pay Basic Rent, or any other payments required to be paid by Tenant under this Lease within three (3) days after written notice thereof for any three (3) occasions (consecutive or non-consecutive) during any twelve (12) month period. In the event of a chronic delinquency, Landlord shall have the right, at Landlord's option, to require that Basic Rent be paid by Tenant quarterly, in advance.

  • Substance abuse means the consumption or use of any substance for purposes other than for the treatment of sickness or injury as prescribed or administered by a person duly authorized by law to treat sick and injured human beings.

  • Behavioral therapy means interactive therapies derived from evidence-based research, including applied behavior analysis, which includes discrete trial training, pivotal response training, intensive intervention programs, and early intensive behavioral intervention.

  • Infection means the entry and development or multiplication of an infectious agent in the body of humans and animals that may constitute a public health risk;

  • Waterborne disease outbreak means the significant occurrence of an acute infectious illness, epidemiologically associated with the ingestion of water from a public water system which is deficient in treatment, as determined by the Division.

  • Psychotherapy or "Therapy" means a goal directed process using generally accepted clinical approaches provided face-to-face by a qualified service provider with consumers in individual, group or family settings to promote positive emotional or behavioral change.

  • Serious assault means an act that constitutes a felony violation of chapter XI of the Michigan penal code, 1931 PA 328, MCL 750.81 to 750.90h, or that constitutes an assault and infliction of serious or aggravated injury under section 81a of the Michigan penal code, 1931 PA 328, MCL 750.81a.

  • Public health emergency means an emergency with respect to COVID–19 declared by a Federal, State, or local authority.

  • Noxious weed means a plant that when established is highly destructive, competitive, or difficult to control by cultural or chemical practices.

  • Sexual abuse means actual or threatened physical intrusion of a sexual nature, whether by force or under unequal or coercive conditions.
