Vd/F definition

Vd/F. (Liters) as used herein means the theoretical volume that would be necessary to contain the total amount of an administered drug at the same concentration that it is observed in the blood plasma. t is generally defined as the distribution of a medication between plasma and the rest of the body after oral or parenteral dosing. “Vd/F” as used herein is calculated by using the terminal elimination rate constant, which is derived mathematically from the concentration vs time curve to extrapolate a value of plasma concentration at time zero. Volume of distribution for oral drugs is normally expressed as Vd/F or Vz/F. The skilled artisan is familiar with calculating Vd/F or Vz/F.
