Job Purpose | |
• To provide 1st and 2nd level technical support and demonstrate a basic generalised technical awareness of DCC’s ICT infrastructure. • Configure, install desktop devices (PCs, Laptops and Tablets) and peripherals and demonstrate diagnostic skills in line with the Council’s corporate ICT policies/strategies. • To provide an efficient technical support service as per ICT’s Service Level Agreements, in accordance with corporate ICT standards and strategies and demonstrate a basic awareness of ICT Service provision and Business requirements. | |
Principal Accountabilities and Responsibilities | |
• Advise and support all customers with their technical queries/problems encountered with network (data and voice) connectivity, systems access and use of desktop devices to ensure optimum service levels are provided. • Using ICT’s IT Service Management tool, follow agreed processes and procedures for Incident Management, Request Fulfilment (Standard Changes), Knowledge Management, Asset Management and Problem Management. |
• Maintain and administer legally licensed software within the Authority in line with ICT’s license management processes. • Install and configure desktop devices using approved images, desktop clients and licensed software using ICT’s Desktop Management tool. • Ensure that the Authority's ICT service reflects new and current developments in technology, by continuing to be pro-active. • Troubleshoot all voice and data communication issues within the County and escalate when required in the correct manner. • Proactively, manage and complete workloads within agreed time scales in a professional manner. |
