A | Mechanical Works | |
1.0 | Design, supply, delivery, Installation, testing and commissioning to the site the following plant and equipment including all other necessary items for the complete and proper design, manufacture, surface treatment, inspection and testing at the manufacturer's works, off loading as per specification. The rate shall include all surtax and sales tax levied by the Government, inland transportation and freight insurance as per specifications. 2.0 | Pumps, column, VSD Starter Panel with pump protection sensors and Heavy Duty Level Sensor shall be supply and installed by contractor with one (1) years warranty after testing & commissioning. | |
3.0 | Supply, Delivery and Install submersible propeller together with motor. Pump capacity shall be not less than 336 l/s, head shall not less than 6.5 m. Works shall be included with pump power cable, control cable, level and heavy duty level sensor from pump sump to junction box and other accessories. The pump motor shall be an induction type with a squirrel cage motor, completely sealed submersible type IP68 or better housed in an air filled, watertight chamber. The stator windings and stator leads shall be insulated with moisture resistant Class H (180oC) insulation. | |

A | GENERAL | |
1.0 | All equipment offered shall be fully of solid state, compact and mechanically robust. The equipment offered shall preferably be of industrial standard design. All necessary cables, connectors and material for a complete installation shall be supplied based on site requirement and condition with the equipment and their costs included therein. | |
2.0 | The design, workmanship, material and finishing of all parts of the equipment offered shall be in accordance with good engineering practices, and where applicable, conform to appropriate latest BSI specification, IEE safety regulation, and other relevant world bodies. | |
3.0 | Material used in the equipment offered shall be incombustible. The use of the combustible materials is avoided. The location and layout in particular of wiring, shall be such as to minimize the risk of fire. | |
4.0 | All components and printed circuit board must be tested and burnt-in before supply. They shall be rugged construction and shall be design with adequate safety margin to withstand continuous service with a minimum of maintenance. | |

B | PROPELLER PUMP SPECIFICATION | |
1.0 | The pumps shall be submersible, axial flow type in design; close coupled with a submersible motor to form an integrated submersible pump / motor unit capable of installation in a discharge column (tube). Seating of the pump in the discharge column shall be accomplished by a simple downward linear motion and be automatic, requiring no entry of personnel. |

11.1 | The pump casing and inlet nozzle shall consist of two separate cast iron pieces, machined and bolted together for easy pump maintenance. 11.2 | Major pump components shall be of ASTM A 48 class 30B cast iron, with smooth surfaces devoid of blowholes and other irregularities. All mating surfaces where watertight sealing is required shall be machined and fitted with nitrile rubber o-rings. | |
11.3 | All exposed fasteners shall be of ASTM type 316 stainless steel that is completely compatible with the pumped media. Fasteners of brass, carbon steel, or lesser grades of stainless steel shall not be considered as completely compatible and therefore not acceptable. |

13.1 | The pump shall be equipped with two tandem mechanical seals operating independently. The upper mechanical seal shall operate in a pressure compensating oil chamber and consist of stationary ring of chromium casting and a rotating ring of carbon. | |
13.2 | The lower mechanical seal shall be of bellows type and consist of two rings both of silicon carbide. | |
13.3 | Through the use of a leakage collection system, no leakage past the upper mechanical seal shall be allowed to penetrate into the lower bearing assembly but shall be directed and collected into a separate seal leakage chamber where leakage can be monitored and excesses drained. 14.0 | Bearings | |
14.1 | The pump / motor shaft shall rotate on adequately sized bearings with B10 bearing life of at minimum 40,000 hours. 4.0 | INSTALLATION, TESTING AND COMMISSIONING | |
4.1 | Installation shall consider for; - a. Pump sets including pump, valves and discharge as well other accessories. |

4.6 | Contractor shall provide at least one (1) day on site technical training on operation and maintenance, pump control system. | |
4.7 | The tenderer shall provide all necessary testing procedure, testing form, testing schedule, necessary equipment and instruments for the Testing and Commissioning. | |
4.8 | Testing and Commissioning of the entire system shall be performed to the satisfaction of the S.O. | |
4.9 | The pump manufacturer shall supply certified performance test results for each pump supplied. Those tests shall be conducted at the manufacturing facility to insure that any changes or adjustments necessarily made for the pumps to comply with specified performance characteristics, are capable in a timely, least cost fashion. The engineer / owner reserves the right to witness these upon notification and at the owners expense. These test shall be conducted in compliance with ISO 9906 Grade 2B standard and include : 1. Performance data showing compliance with specified head, flow, efficiency, input kW, and Brake Horsepower data. 2. After performance testing, inspecting the pump to ensure that the machine maintained mechanical and watertight integrity. | |
5.0 | GUARANTEED PERFORMANCE | |
5.1 | The tenderer shall quote and guaranteed the discharge at the maximum total head. | |
5.2 | Pump Manufacturer (NOT Contractor) must guarantee the pump sets and other equipment's supplied against any defect in manufacture for a period of 12 months after delivery. Any part of the equipment’s found to be defective as |

7.0 | LITERATURES | |
7.1 | All literatures should be printed in English Language or translated English Language. | |
7.2 | The engineering equipment and plant should be supplied complete with the following literature in hard bound copies:- i. Six (6) copies of the operating instruction for the pump ii. Six (6) copies of the service, repair & overhaul manuals for pumps iii. Six (6) copies of the spare parts catalogue for the pump & associated accessories. Six (6) copies of list standards tools required and supplied with the pump. | |
8.0 | MODEL | |
8.1 | The units offered shall be new standard production models of the latest design in current production. | |
8.2 | List of installation references in Malaysia and overseas to be attached. Year of reference shall be at least ten (10) years. | |
9.0 | AFTER SALES SERVICE | |
9.1 | The tenderer must certify that pump supplier has an own in house after sales service center/ organization manned by qualified and experience serviceman in Kedah/Penang so as to provide quick and prompt after sales maintenance and repair services without any undue delay. Third party or dealers or appointed service center is NOT acceptable. | |
9.2 | Location and contact detail of after sales service center shall be enclosed. |

13.0 | DELIVERY | |
13.1 | Pump sets and all associated accessories shall be delivered to site not more than four (4) months from the date of acceptance of contract. | |
14.0 | TRAINING | |
14.1 | After testing and commissioning of pump, Contractor shall provide competent person to conduct training at site to operators for one (1) day in respect to as below :- | |
14.2 | While contractor also shall provide a classroom theory training for 10 persons for three (3) day and two (2) night. The topics of the training include are as follows: i. Electrical System ii. Pump Technology and Pump Control System iii. O & M iv. Trouble Shooting | |
15.0 | SAFETY | |
15.1 | Tenderers must ensure that all site activities are carried out in full compliance with safety, health and welfare requirements as stipulated in the Occupational Safety and Health Act 1994 as well as the Factories and Machinery Act. |

16.0 | WARRANTY | |
16.1 | The successful tenderer shall guarantee to repair the damaged or malfunctioning equipment for a period of 12 months after the date of testing and commissioning. The Successful Tenderer shall enter any contingent price for which BPME JPS Kedah is not responsible for any payment if the structure and pump are damaged within the warranty period. | |
