Job Purpose | Visit Ceredigion primary and secondary schools to: o learn about the intervention provision offered; o monitor and raise standards of intervention provision; o provide advice and model appropriate strategies and resources to meet learners' needs in order to raise standards; o deliver intervention sessions to groups of pupils when required; o contribute to staff training in the delivery of interventions. |

Contractual Terms Associated with the Post | Working during school term time only. Safeguarding and child protection are key priorities for us. We aim to support vulnerable children and young people to ensure they are as safe as they can possibly be. We and our educational establishments acknowledge that children and young people have a right to protection and will take action to safeguard their welfare. Each member of staff and volunteer is expected to share this commitment, and we will require an Enhanced Check by the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS), formerly CRB. |
Duties and Responsibilities |
• To be responsible for working as part of a team providing a service to support schools with providing a wide range of interventions: o SATPIN / TRANDEP intervention; o Cyfri Ceredigion numeracy intervention; o Sensory Circuits intervention; o Catch Up reading intervention; o Group reading with understanding intervention; o Personal Dictionaries intervention; o Lego intervention o Springboard maths intervention. • Responsible for contacting schools and arranging visit timetables and managing own weekly work diary. • Planning appropriate activities for each intervention session delivered. • Using a variety of interesting and appropriate resources to support children's learning – creating and adapting resources where required - and sharing these with school staff. • Keeping consistent records of work and the children's responses. • Increasing pupils’ level of learning skills as well as numeracy and literacy skills. • Modelling appropriate learning strategies to up-skill and raise the confidence of school staff. • Inspiring school staff to feel confident to run high quality intervention sessions independently. • Monitoring provision in the schools after they have received LABSSA input. • Writing reports following monitoring visits. | |
