• L’accordo è relativo all’esecuzione di uno studio di ingegneria per valutare l’implementazione di un impianto di produzione di idrogeno verde via elettrolisi
• Il Progetto prevede la conversione dell’energia proveniente da un impianto fotovoltaico di MYTILINEOS in idrogeno verde
• NextChem sarà il partner ingegneristico del progetto
Milano/Atene, 20 Maggio 2021 – Maire Tecnimont S.p.A. annuncia che la sua controllata NextChem e la Business Unit Renewable and Storage Development (RSD BU) di MYTILINEOS, oggi hanno firmato un accordo per attività di ingegneria per lo sviluppo di un impianto di produzione di idrogeno verde via elettrolisi in Italia.
NextChem è la controllata di Maire Tecnimont attiva nel campo della chimica verde e delle tecnologie per la transizione energetica. MYTILINEOS, attraverso la sua RDS BU, è leader di mercato nello sviluppo, nella costruzione e nella gestione dell’operatività di progetti di energia solare e ibrida su scala industriale, con una comprovata esperienza di oltre 1 GW di progetti solari di media e larga scala in tutto il mondo e grandi impianti di accumulo di batterie.
Secondo l’accordo, l’RSD BU utilizzerà il know-how e le competenze ingegneristiche di NextChem e Maire Tecnimont nelle tecnologie dell’idrogeno per crescere in questo settore.
Il progetto, che convertirà l'energia rinnovabile da uno degli impianti solari di MYTILINEOS in idrogeno verde, mira a fornire agli acquirenti locali un'alternativa di vettore energetico carbon neutral che potrebbe consentire una reale decarbonizzazione anche dei settori industriali difficili da riconvertire.

MAIRE TECNIMONT GROUP’S NEXTCHEM AND MYTILINEOS AGREED TO CARRY OUT A FEASIBILITY STUDY FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF A GREEN HYDROGEN PRODUCTION PLANT IN ITALY
• The Agreement relates to the execution of an engineering study to evaluate the implementation of a green hydrogen production facility based on electrolysis

Milan/Athens, 20 May 2021 – Xxxxx Xxxxxxxxx S.p.A. announces that its subsidiary NextChem and MYTILINEOS’ Renewable and Storage Development Business Unit (RSD BU) have signed an agreement today to develop engineering activities for the implementation of a green hydrogen plant via electrolysis in Italy.
NextChem is Maire Tecnimont’s subsidiary operating in the field of green chemistry and technologies for the Energy Transition. MYTILINEOS, through its RSD BU is a market leader in the development, construction and operation of utility-scale solar and hybrid power projects with a proven track record of over 1 GW of medium to large scale solar projects worldwide and battery storage installations.
Under the agreement, the RSD BU will leverage NextChem’s and Xxxxx Xxxxxxxxx Group’s know-how and engineering expertise in hydrogen technologies to grow in the hydrogen business.
The project, which will convert renewable energy from one of MYTILINEOS’ solar plants into green hydrogen, to be followed by other plants as well, aims to provide local off-takers with a carbon neutral energy carrier alternative that could allow for effective decarbonization including in hard- to-abate industrial sectors.
