Personal Statement. I lead the bone marrow tranpslantion program and unit at Pescara Hospital. The focus of my research has been allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, following myeloablative or reduce-intensity conditioning regimens, for patients with malignant hemopathies, thalassemia major and other congenital hemopathies, using matched related or unrelated donors, cord blood and haploidentical donors. I will contribute my experience in cellular immunotherapy for the proof-of-concept manufacturing of the novel CAR T cells proposed in the project from healthy donors as well as from relapsed or refractory lymphoma and myeloma patients.
Personal Statement. I am an Assistant Professor of Hematology and a translational researcher trained in the field of CAR T cell design at the Tettamanti Research Center of University Milano-Bicocca, specifically in the development of dual-targeting CARs against acute myeloid leukemia (Perriello et al., Haematologica 2020;105(s2):S20 and Blood 2021;138:1699) and Hodgkin Lymphoma (PI of an Under40 grant by the Italian Lymphoma Foundation/FIL). Key for the success of this project, I am the co-inventor of a patent on a new anti-CD79b monoclonal antibody, and the co-developer of a new anti-PDL1 antibody soon to be patented. Together with the PI, I willll supervise and coordinate all research activities involving generation and testing of novel CD79b CAR T cells with or without anti-PDL1 costimulatory receptor.
