Competent authorities. The Inquiry proposes that supervisory responsibility in Sweden to ensure compliance with the EU Regulation on Interchange Fees be divided between the Swedish Consumer Agency and Finansinspek- tionen (the Financial Supervisory Authority). The Swedish Consumer Agency is to be the competent authority with regard to the obli- gation of payees that do not accept all cards to inform consumers about this. Finansinspektionen is to be the competent authority with regard to compliance with the other provisions of the Regu- lation.
