*THE 3 YEAR OUTDOOR WARRANTY ON ALL COLORS FOR 111 NAVY AND BROOM MODELS ARE VALID FOR SHIPMENTS MADE FROM JANUARY 1ST, 2018 FROM EMECO FACTORY.
Emeco furniture is built in accordance with the highest standards of design and manufacture. Emeco warrants its furniture to be free from defects in material and workmanship under normal use and conditions for the periods stated below from date of receipt.
This warranty extends only to the original purchasers who purchased new products from Emeco.
Fabric that is not manufactured by Emeco is not covered by this warranty but governed solely by the guarantees or warranties, if any, of the upholstery manufacturer. This warranty also does not include factory upholstery, scratches and chips to a powder coated color finish, scratches or discoloration and deterioration to plastic (due to harsh cleaners) or plastic laminate components, scratches and blemishes to polyurethane components, scratches and blemishes to a polished finish, wood finishes, table top wear, or floor glide wear.
This warranty does not include scratches or discoloration and deterioration to rPET plastic (due to harsh cleaners), reclaimed Wood Polypropylene plastic or floor glide wear. Variations in color and finish are integral to the rPET and reclaimed Wood Polypropylene as well as all the recycled and reclaimed materials we use in our products and should be expected.
Natural variations in wood grain and color is characteristic of this natural material and are not included in this warranty. Discoloration of surface materials due to stains, harsh cleaners, dye from clothing including denim are not included in this warranty.
Emeco is not liable for any loss of time, inconvenience, commercial loss, incidental or consequential damages incurred or suffered by the purchaser or any third party in respect of the product.
This warranty does not apply to furniture damaged by accident, abuse, neglect, or misuse, nor does it apply if repairs are attempted by purchaser or by anyone other than an authorized Emeco agent or the Emeco factory.
In no event shall liability under this warranty exceed the original purchase price of defective furniture.
Emeco will replace or repair defective furniture covered by this warranty. Customers must send an email to xxxx@xxxxx.xxx to report a claim, and items must be shipped, prepaid to: Emeco, 000 Xxx Xxx., Xxxxxxx XX XXX 00000.
PAYMENT TERMS
Emeco requires a 50% deposit upon order and balance due before shipping. Prices do not include shipping; shipping quotes may be obtained bycontacting Emeco Customer Service, 1 717 637 5951, xxxx@xxxxx.xxx. Emeco accepts cheques, wire payments, and credit cards within USA.

Emeco requires a 25% restocking fee on returned orders of standard products. Custom products, Kong chairs and stools, and special powdercoat

ENVIRONMENTAL STATEMENT
OUR VISION:
Great furniture can be made with less environmental impact without compromising performance, quality, longevity and beauty. We try our very best to tread lightly on our planet while making products that last for generations, made with care and respect for people, the environment and material resources. With tomorrow in mind.
OUR POLICY:
Emeco was founded in 1944 on the principle “Begin with what’s left over, turn it into what will last.” Our first chair, the 1006 Navy, was made from recycled aluminum and built to last at least 150 years. Those principles still guide us today, as we build our simple, timeless collection in Hanover, PA. We utilize post-consumer and post-industrial waste streams to create furniture intended to last decades, with the lowest possible carbon footprint. We own
our impact. And we will keep improving.
OUR PROCESSES:
Manufacturing: |
• Emeco furniture is manufactured in the US. • The Emeco factory in Hanover, PA, conforms to all applicable US, State and Local environmental laws and regulations. • We source our materials as locally as possible, to reduce transport emissions and to support the local economy and local craft. • Emeco continuously monitors, evaluates and works to improve our manufacturing processes, to further reduce our environmental impact. Example: since 2021 we have reduced our aluminum scrap rate by 50%, thanks to tooling changes and process improve ments. We already recycle and reuse all of our aluminum scrap, but less scrap means less energy needed to recycle parts. |
Materials: |
• Emeco carefully evaluates and selects all raw materials based on their environmental impact. Around 90% of our entire product range is made from recycled materials. All materials are chosen for longevity. - All aluminum used in Emeco products is at least 80% recycled and 100% recyclable. Of the recycled aluminium, half is post-consumer (soft drink cans) and half is post-industrial (manufacturing scrap). • Aluminum is 100% recyclable, endlessly, making it one of the smartest materials available. • Use of recycled aluminum, as opposed to virgin aluminum, equates to 95% less energy consumption. It also ensures a low carbon footprint. • Emeco returns 100% of aluminum manufacturing scrap (cut-offs and leftovers) to local recyclers. Emeco’s aluminum scrap generation-rate is approx. 6% annually by weight. • Emeco uses clear coat anodizing as the surface finishing method for most of our aluminum products. This significantly reduces particulate emissions and produces no volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in the application of the finish. - Emeco chairs and stools made from recycled PET plastic (111 Navy, 1951, On & On) contain at least 90% recycled PET, rPET. 100% of the rPET used comes from a post-consumer recycled source. Emeco chairs and stools made from rPET can be 100% recycled by Emeco into new chairs and stools of the same or a similar model. |
Materials (continued): |
- Emeco chairs and stools made from recycled wood-filled polypropylene (1 Inch, Alfi, Broom) contain at least 90% recycled post-industrial polypropylene mixed with recycled wood fiber, rWPP. Emeco chairs and stools made from rWPP can be 100% recycled by Emeco into new chairs and stools of the same or a similar model. - Emeco uses locally sourced sustainable timber and low-VOC finishes on our wood components. • Emeco product developers work continuously to further reduce the environmental impact of existing products. Example: since we first pioneered the rPET material with the introduction of 111 Navy in 2010, we have continued to engineer the material, increasing the recycled content from 65% rPET to 90% rPET. Increased recycled content helps keep more waste out of landfills and enables us to make even better quality products. |
Testing & Compliance: |
• Emeco furniture is tested to conform to ANSI/BIFMA X5.1 for strength and stability, ensuring longevity. Certificates available for download. • Emeco furniture is tested for VOC emissons to conform with ANSI/BIFMA e3, sections 7.6.1, 7.6.2, 7.6.3. Our products are certified Clean Air Gold or Clean Air Silver. Certificates available for download. • Emeco provides Health Product Declarations (HPD) disclosed to 1,000 ppm. Certificates available for download. • Emeco products contribute to a number of LEED credits within: BD + C (Building Design and Construction), ID+C (Interior Design and Construction) and BD+C (Healthcare). • Emeco products contribute to WELL v2 certification within the Concepts Materials and Innovation. Emeco products may also contribute to WELL Concepts Air, Light and Thermal Comfort. |
Carbon Footprint Measurement: |
• Emeco measures and declares the carbon footprint of our products. Using the 2030 Calculator, we measure our impact ”cradle-to-gate”, starting from the creation of the product to the moment it leaves our factory. Although many chairs do not yet declare a carbon footprint measurement, a typical carbon footprint for a chair ranges from 30-60 kg CO2e. As a comparison, the 1006 Navy chair has a carbon footprint of 14.88 kg CO2e. The work to measure and declare carbon footprint for all our products is ongoing. |
Chair Recycling Program: |
• Our recycled plastic and recycled aluminum products can be recycled endlessly without losing material properties. Emeco has a chair-to-chair recycling program. The plastic and all-aluminum Emeco furniture can be returned to Emeco for recycling and manufacturing of the same or similar model. |
LEED Certification
LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) is a division of the US Green Building Council, a government sponsored organization whose goal is to promote environmentalism in the building industry. No product can be LEED Certified; Certification is only granted to the entire building or interior. A project is LEED Certified by qualifying for credits that accrue when environmentally and materially sound choices are made in the design and building process. Product choices can help the project qualify for LEED Certification by being environmentally sound and materially transparent. Based on the requirements of LEED v4.1, Emeco products contribute to credits listed below.
Sourcing of Raw Materials |
Specifying Emeco furniture contributes to this credit in terms of Recycled Content because all of our products contain recycled content. Emeco aluminum furniture is made from at least 80% recycled aluminum, which in turn is endlessly recyclable. Emeco plastic seating is made from recycled PET or reclaimed polypropylene, both of which are in turn recyclable. Please refer to the individual product to confirm percentage. Based on the location of the project, and distance from Hanover, Pennsylvania, specifying Emeco products may also help credit achievement calculation for local sourcing. APPLICABLE EMECO PRODUCTS: ALL* * Navy Wood Chair and Alfi Soft slipcovers do not contain recycled content. |
