Health Care Cost Containment Committee. The Employer and the Union recognize the rapidly escalating health care costs, including the cost of medically unnecessary services and inappropriate treatment, have a detrimental impact on the health benefit program. The parties hereby establish a joint committee for the purpose of investigating health care cost containment issues which shall continue during the term of this Agreement. Health Care Cost Containment Committee a. The Health Care Cost Containment Committee which was established as of July 1, 2004, shall continue as modified herein. Health Care Cost Containment Committee. The Municipality shall establish a health care cost containment committee for the Municipality of Anchorage Health Flex Plan. The Union shall have a representative on the Committee. The Committee shall be made up of an equal number of Union representatives and Municipal representatives. The committee shall have as its mission the design of programs and actions that will address health issues to include, but not be limited to, containment or reduction of the cost of the health care plan.

Health Care Cost Containment Committee. During the term of this MOU, the County and unions agree to meet outside formal negotiations through the Health Care Cost Containment Committee (HC4) to discuss medical and dental (health) issues and possible changes to benefits. Agreements reached as part of the Health Care Cost Containment Committee (HC4) may be implemented outside of negotiations if employee organizations representing a majority of employees agree, providing, however, all employee organizations are given an opportunity to meet and confer regarding such agreements. Benefits Committee During the term of this MOU, the County and the Unions shall convene the Benefits Committee to investigate the feasibility of revising medical and/or dental coverage and/or plan(s) and strategies to integrate wellness program participation into benefit insurance cost structure, including FSA debit cards. The Benefits Committee will be composed of County and labor representatives, not to exceed two (2) representatives from each participating labor organization and four (4) County representatives. Agreements reached as part of the Benefits Committee may be implemented outside of negotiations if employee organizations representing a majority of employees agree, providing, however, all employee organizations are given an opportunity to meet and confer regarding such agreements. Reopeners Upon request from the County, the parties will reopen Section 17 during the term of the agreement if necessary to address changes required under the ACA. Health Care Cost Containment Committee. The parties agree to form a Health Care Cost Containment Committee made up of an equal number of members from the Union and the Bedford School District unless mutually agreed otherwise which will review and agree to further cost containment programs to cover active employees during the term of the Contract. The parties are committed to investigate programs, which will reduce costs. Programs relating to health care would include, but would not be limited to alternative health care providers, additional cost containment programs, and alternative traditional plans. Any programs agreed to by the parties will be implemented during the term of this agreement unless otherwise mutually agreed upon.
Health Care Cost Containment Committee. The parties agree to establish a joint labor/management committee on health care cost containment during the term of the 2010-2011 agreement. The committee will be made up of two members from the bargaining unit and two members from the City. The committee shall meet no less than six (6) times during the term of the 2010-2011 agreement at a minimum of once per quarter, to study and explore methods to make recommendations for health care cost containment. The committee's recommendations will be provided to each representative's side no later than August of each year. Committee expenses up to $1,000 per year may be authorized by the Director of Human Resources. The City agrees to provide an additional sum of money for health care cost containment initiatives for bargaining unit members during the term of this agreement. The sum of money provided for these initiatives shall be based upon the number of full time bargaining unit members employed as January 1 of each respective year at a rate of $50 per bargaining unit member. Such funds are to be allocated as determined by the Health Care Cost Containment Committee.
