JOB VACANCY. When a regular job vacancy occurs, present employees shall be given consideration for filling the vacancy. The position shall be filled by the most qualified applicant.
JOB VACANCY. Before recruiting from outside sources to fill job vacancies or new jobs, it is the Employer's policy to "post" the new or vacant positions on the Staff Bulletin Board at any individual location. Employees who apply for the positions are interviewed and given preference over outside applicants if their qualifications and performance meet requirements. For positions of a specialized nature, a search for candidates from outside the company may take place simultaneously with the job posting. If there is any choice to be made between two employees who are otherwise relatively equal, the employee having the greater seniority shall receive the preference. Consistent with this policy, it is understood that in the event that either or both the present Distribution Centre operations were transferred to a new location during the term of this collective agreement, preference would be given to affected employees presently employed at other buildings should they wish to relocate. It is agreed that this letter of understanding shall form part of the collective agreement entered into between Zellers Inc. and the National Automobile, Aerospace, Transportation and General Workers Union of Canada (CAW/TCA-Canada) and its Local 1000 which document is in effect for the period commencing on June 1, 2009 and ending on May 31, 2012.

JOB VACANCY. 17.01 Where a permanent vacancy occurs in a classification within the bargaining unit which the clinic decides to fill, or a new position within the bargaining unit is established by the Clinic, such vacancy shall be posted by the Clinic for a period of five (5) days excluding Saturday, Sunday and holidays. All applications must come from persons outside the posted classification except for those who are currently not full-time and wish to become full-time and such applications are to be made in writing within the posted period. Second and subsequent vacancies which arise as a result of a job posting do not have to be posted, and will be filled from persons within the bargaining unit considering the criteria for selection in Article 17.04. If no qualified candidates are available, the Employer may hire from outside.

The language requires the employer to pay into the fund the amount negotiated for every hour worked by each employee. Contributions to the Fund will be made quarterly, in the year, and such contributions will be mailed to: CAW Social Justice Fund Placer Court Toronto, ON Please make your cheque payable to CAW Social Justice Fund. The Company will be issued with a charitable receipt for each payment. JOB GUARANTEE The number of regular full-time material handlers to be maintained at positions within days of the ratification of this agreement. The new positions which are established as a result of this letter shall be posted and filled in accordance with article and It is agreed that such regular full-time material handler positions shall be maintained during the term of this collective agreement and that the employees occupying said positions shall not be subject to permanent lay-off for the duration of this agreement. JOB VACANCY. Section 1: Job Openings. Where an existing or a new job within the bargaining unit becomes vacant, and the City decides to refill or fill it, the City may elect to fill the vacancy by promotion, reassignment or transfer, or employment of a new hire.
JOB VACANCY. 24.1 Notice of a vacant position in a classification covered by this Agreement and for which an eligibility list doesn't exist, shall be posted for a period of five (5) working days on appropriate City bulletin boards and electronic devices (i.e., City’s official Internet website, City’s Intranet System, Telephone Job Line) for purpose of creating an eligibility list of applicants. If an employee is on approved leave during the entire posting period and has missed the opportunity to apply for the vacancy, then the employee may submit a bid to the Human Resources Division within three (3) working days after the closing period of the vacancy. Any like vacancy, which occurs within thirty (30) days following the posting may be filled from the eligibility list generated by the original classification vacancy posting. Some job vacancy announcements may be limited to specific Divisions or Sections based on the availability of qualified candidates within these respective work forces and the level of skills required by the position. Any employee who has completed his initial probationary period may apply in writing to the Human Resources Division for consideration before the closing date of the job announcement.
