Seniority Points. 13.6.1.1 Members accrue seniority points each time they complete an appointment to teach a course or substantially similar course. Each course, regardless of its student credit weighting, equals one seniority point in that course or substantially similar course. Subject to 13.6.1.3, seniority points are retained for a period of thirty-six (36) months following the end of the Member’s last appointment. Any Member with seniority points shall retain their rights under the collective agreement.
Seniority Points. The equivalent of each year of full-time continuous service with the County shall earn two hundred sixty (260) seniority points. The equivalent of each regularly scheduled full day of continuous service of a partial year shall earn one (1) seniority point. Demerit Points: For a rating of “does not meet performance objectives” on the last “Performance Evaluation Report,” for the class currently held by the employee, the employee shall earn two-hundred sixty (260) demerit points. Demerit points shall only be used in the currently held class of an employee. Demerit points shall not be applied to an employee seeking to enter a lower class through voluntary reduction in lieu of layoff. Layoff Points: Layoff points shall be computed by subtracting demerit points, if any, from seniority points.

The written portion of the promotional process shall count for seventy percent (70%) of an employee’s final grade. The assessment process shall count for thirty percent (30%) of an employees’ final grade. Seniority points shall be added to the score of the written examination; however, no credit for seniority shall be added to an examination grade unless the applicant achieves at least the minimum passing score on the examination without counting such extra credit. For the purposes of this article the word "attainable" shall mean one hundred (100).
