Leaves and re-employment rights for service in the U.S. Armed Services, or any of its reserve components and the National Guard, will be granted in accordance with state and federal laws.
In accordance with Minnesota Statutes 192.261 and federal law, leave shall be granted to an employee who voluntarily or involuntarily enters into active military service, active duty for training, initial active duty for training, inactive duty training or full-time National Guard duty in the armed forces of the United States for the period of military service, not to exceed five (5) years.
Inactive Duty: Weekend drills as a member of an inactive unit of the National Guard or Reserves, or a similar activity.
An employee who is a member of the National Guard, or reserve component of the Armed Forces of the United States is entitled to paid leave not to exceed twenty-one (21) work days in any training year for active duty training.
Military leave for National Guard Duty will comply with all the requirements of RCW 38.40.060.
