A Unit Member having permanency in a job. classification shall be placed on the next step on the salary schedule effective July 1, providing they were hired on or before December 31, of the previous year. Employees hired between January 1 and June 30, will not receive a step increase until the following year on July 1, (i.e., if hired on January 1 of any year, would not receive increase for eighteen (18) months).
