Common use of Access to Services for People with Limited English Proficiency Clause in Contracts

Access to Services for People with Limited English Proficiency. Except as the Federal Government determines otherwise in writing, the Recipient agrees to promote accessibility of public transportation services to people whose understanding of English is limited by: (1) Facilitating compliance with and following Executive Order No. 13166, “Improving Access to Services for Persons with Limited English Proficiency,” 42 U.S.C. § 2000d-1 note, and (2) Following U.S. DOT Notice, “DOT Policy Guidance Concerning Recipients’ Responsibilities to Limited English Proficiency (LEP) Persons,” 70 Fed. Reg. 74087, December 14, 2005, except as the Federal Government determines otherwise in writing.
