Accredited Service. 12.02.01 Accredited service for pay purposes shall not accrue: 12.02.01. 01 during any period of furlough; 12.02.01. 02 during that portion of any continuous leave of absence without pay in excess of 30 days, except that leaves granted to permit attendance of pilots at conferences with the Company and leaves granted to permit pilots to attend any conferences with Company permission will be considered as continuous service.

Accredited Service. 9.1.1 The term accredited service shall mean the aggregate of the years and months of active employment in the service of the Company, its predecessors, its associated companies or companies affiliated with the Corporation that is recognized for service purposes. Accredited service shall include all active employment for which a wage or salary was paid, and any additional excused absent time or leave of absence time that was specifically approved for service credit purposes in accordance with published statement of Company policy. 9.1.1.1 Accredited service for parttime employees will be based on the accumulation of hours worked. For this purpose, forty hours shall be considered to constitute one week.

For those employees with a frozen pension benefit or who are not eligible to participate in the applicable pension plan, Accredited Service will be calculated in the manner prescribed by the applicable pension plan as if the employee had been eligible to participate in the applicable pension plan. B. Regular employees accrue Accredited Service under this Agreement governed by the most recent date of employment, unless adjusted by a break in service or change of status. C. Temporary employees do not accrue Accredited Service; however, if a temporary employee becomes a regular employee, the employee's Accredited Service reflects the total accumulated straight time hours from the most recent date of hire. 13.2 Accredited Service ceases with any absence from employment with the Company, including any Leave of Absence, except as follows: A. Employees shall accrue Accredited Service during an FMLA absence for up to twelve (12) weeks in a twelve (12) month period. B. Employees shall accrue Accredited Service during a Military Leave of Absence if the employee returns to active employment status immediately following the leave. C. Employees shall accrue Accredited Service during any Union Leave of Absence granted in accordance with the provisions of one of the local Appendices to this Agreement.

It shall include time for which the employee actually receives wages, workers compensation benefits, sick benefits, military leaves of absence (in accordance with the requirements of applicable law), and any approved excused absent time up to thirty (30) days in a single calendar year.
