Common use of Acquisition Expenses Clause in Contracts

Acquisition Expenses. If an organ, tissue, or bone marrow is obtained from a living donor for a covered transplant, the Plan will pay for the donor’s medical expenses as acquisition costs. The Lifetime Maximum applies to Benefits for covered acquisition expenses. If the donor is a Member of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana or HMO Louisiana, Inc. and the Lifetime Maximum has been met on this Plan, the donor’s policy may cover medical expenses. The Lifetime Maximum applies to costs of searching for bone marrow donors. If any organ, tissue, or bone marrow is sold rather than donated, the Plan does not pay the purchase price.
