Additional Compensation for Short-Term Assignments. A bargaining unit employee whose current job description does not include managerial duties may be assigned temporary managerial duties in addition to his/her regular assignment. Any such assignment shall be made by the Department Head in writing and shall be for duties not merely incidental to the employee’s regular work. Such assignments shall be for not less than three (3) and not more than thirty (30) consecutive working days. An employee so assigned shall be paid an additional five percent (5%) differential for every hour actually worked, excluding hours spent in training. Any employee compensated pursuant to this section shall not be eligible for additional compensation for working out-of-class during the period of the short-term assignment.
