Additions to Reserve. British Columbia understands that PRFN may, in accordance with Canada’s Addition to Reserve (ATR) policy, seek Indian reserve status for some or all of the Lands.
Additions to Reserve. Alberta acknowledges that the purpose of transferring the Additional Lands to Canada is to allow Canada to set the Additional Lands apart as reserve within the meaning of the Indian Act for the use and benefit of the Nation and in furtherance of this objective Alberta will use reasonable efforts to assist in the setting apart of the Additional Lands as reserve.
Additions to Reserve. 5.1 Subject to this Section, the First Nation shall have the right to buy up to 1,280 acres of land located outside the boundaries of any Urban Municipality in the Province of Saskatchewan, or up to 1100 acres of urban land situated within the boundaries of an Urban Municipality in the Province of Saskatchewan for the purposes of reserve creation (the “Acquired Lands”). The First Nation may, at its option, acquire any combination of urban and other lands provided that the total of such lands shall not exceed 1100 acres in aggregate.
Additions to Reserve. 4.1 Canada undertakes to proceed with due diligence and to use its best efforts to set apart the lands identified in Subsections 4.2, 4.4 and 4.6 as reserve for the Mohawks of Akwesasne in accordance with the applicable requirements of the Addition to Reserve/Reserve Creation Policy. Canada acknowledges that the language in this Subsection results in a legal commitment by Canada as described in 9.1 of the Additions to Reserve/Reserve Creation Policy with respect to the lands described therein.
