Common use of Adherence to Time Limits Clause in Contracts

Adherence to Time Limits. The time limits specified herein for movement of grievances through the process shall be strictly adhered to and may be extended by mutual consent of the parties in writing. In the event that the union or employee fails to appeal a grievance within the time limits stated in this procedure, the grievance shall be deemed abandoned or settled on the basis of the board of education’s last written answer. In the event the board of education representative does not reply within the time limit specified, the grievance may proceed to the next step of the grievance procedure.
