Adjusting Embedded Items. As necessary to meet the final finished grade as indicated on the drawings, all embedded items (including but not limited to manhole covers and frames, catch basin grates and frames, valve boxes and other construction castings) shall be properly adjusted to their new elevation. If, in the opinion of the Engineer, the existing water service valve boxes are suitable for use, the valve boxes shall be adjusted to meet proposed grade. If the existing top section cannot be adjusted to meet proposed grade a new top section shall be provided.
