After School Start Up. 16.03.01 If an employee’s position is eliminated or reduced in F.T.E. after the start of the school year, the employee will be placed in accordance with Article 15. In circumstances where an incumbent wishes to stay in the position and accept a decrease in F.T.E., they must apply for a Leave of Absence from the reduced portion of their F.T.E. for the balance of the school year or until the position is increased, whichever comes first. 16.03.02 In circumstances where a position can be increased at a school after commencement of the school year, the incumbent staff member shall have the opportunity to accept the increase in time on a sessional basis. Should the employee not be interested in an increased F.T.E., the Board shall then fill the position on a sessional basis from permanent ECEs on the basis of availability, and seniority subject to satisfactory performance reviews. Should no permanent employee be selected on this basis, the Board will fill the position on a sessional basis from the Pool Hiring list. 16.03.03 Temporary vacancies that occur during the school year, shall be filled by the Board with employees from the Occasional Early Childhood Educators List until the end of the school year.
