In acting under this Agreement and in connection with the Securities, each of the Fiscal Agent and any other Agent is acting solely as agent of the Issuer and of Japan, and does not assume any obligation or relationship of agency or trust, for or with any of the owners or holders of the Securities, except that all funds held by the Fiscal Agent or any other Agent for payment of principal of or interest on the Securities shall be held in trust, but need not be segregated from other funds except as required by law, and shall be applied as set forth herein and in the Securities.
