Specialized Vehicles Employees who must operate a motor vehicle on official State business and who, because of a physical disability, may operate only specially equipped or modified vehicles may claim from 34 up to 37 cents per mile, with certification. Supervisors who approve claims pursuant to this Subsection have the responsibility of determining the need for the use of such vehicles.
USE OF RECYCLED OR REMANUFACTURED MATERIALS New York State supports and encourages contractors to use recycled, remanufactured or recovered materials in the manufacture of products and packaging to the maximum extent practicable without jeopardizing the performance or intended end use of the product or packaging unless such use is precluded due to health or safety requirements or product specifications contained herein. Refurbished or remanufactured components or products are required to be restored to original performance and regulatory standards and functions and are required to meet all other requirements of this bid solicitation. Warranties on refurbished or remanufactured components or products must be identical to the manufacturer's new equipment warranty or industry's normal warranty when remanufacturer does not offer new equipment. Manufacturer A firm that operates or maintains a factory or establishment that produces on the premises, the materials or supplies obtained by the Contractor. Regular Dealer - A firm that owns, operates, or maintains a store, warehouse, or other establishment in which the materials or supplies required for the performance of the contract are bought, kept in stock, and regularly sold to the public in the usual course of business. A regular dealer engages in, as its principal business and in its own name, the purchase and sale or lease of the products in question. A regular dealer in such bulk items as steel, cement, gravel, stone, and petroleum products need not keep such products in stock, if it owns and operates distribution equipment for the products. Brokers and packagers are not regarded as manufacturers or regular dealers within the meaning of this section. North Carolina Unified Certification Program (NCUCP) - A program that provides comprehensive services and information to applicants for DBE certification, such that an applicant is required to apply only once for a DBE certification that will be honored by all recipients of USDOT funds in the state and not limited to the Department of Transportation only. The Certification Program is in accordance with 49 CFR Part 26. United States Department of Transportation (USDOT) - Federal agency responsible for issuing regulations (49 CFR Part 26) and official guidance for the DBE program. Preservative-treated Wood Containing Arsenic Contractor may not purchase preservative-treated wood products containing arsenic in the performance of this Agreement unless an exemption from the requirements of Chapter 13 of the San Francisco Environment Code is obtained from the Department of the Environment under Section 1304 of the Code. The term “preservative-treated wood containing arsenic” shall mean wood treated with a preservative that contains arsenic, elemental arsenic, or an arsenic copper combination, including, but not limited to, chromated copper arsenate preservative, ammoniacal copper zinc arsenate preservative, or ammoniacal copper arsenate preservative. Contractor may purchase preservative-treated wood products on the list of environmentally preferable alternatives prepared and adopted by the Department of the Environment. This provision does not preclude Contractor from purchasing preservative-treated wood containing arsenic for saltwater immersion. The term “saltwater immersion” shall mean a pressure-treated wood that is used for construction purposes or facilities that are partially or totally immersed in saltwater.
Computer Equipment Recycling Program If this Contract is for the purchase or lease of computer equipment, then Contractor certifies that it is in compliance with Subchapter Y, Chapter 361 of the Texas Health and Safety Code related to the Computer Equipment Recycling Program and the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality rules in 30 TAC Chapter 328.
Biological Samples If so specified in the Protocol, Institution and Principal Investigator may collect and provide to Sponsor or its designee Biological Samples (“Biological Samples”). 12.2.
