Common use of Alternate beneficiary Clause in Contracts

Alternate beneficiary. The Board of Trustees may refuse to make payment to any person who is, in its judgment, incapable for any reason of personally receiving and giving a valid receipt for such payment, and, unless and until claim shall have been made by a duly-appointed guardian, conservator or committee for such person, may make such payment, or any part thereto, to any other person, institution or agency then, in the judgment of the board, contributing toward or providing for the care and maintenance of such person; and to the extent of amounts so paid the board shall be completely discharged.
