Alternative Work Assignments/ Remote Assignment Provision –Year-Long. When an 31 employee’s regular assignment requires work/services at a District work site and the employee 32 would prefer to not work at a District work site for the 2020-21 school year due to conditions 33 under paragraphs 4-9 above, the District may offer available work that can be provided 34 remotely from home on the condition that the employee is qualified, prepared and willing to 35 provide such services. When choosing from among multiple employees for the same available 36 assignment, the District will prioritize employees in the following order:
37 a. Employees eligible for remote assignment under paragraphs 1-3.
38 b. Higher risk employees.
39 c. Employees with a higher risk individual in the employee’s household.
40 d. Employees with children impacted by school closure.
41 e. Employees who cannot wear a mask or other required PPE.
42 f. Employees who would prefer to not work at a district work site due to a concern for 43 safety or the requirement to wear a mask or other required PPE. 44 45 If two (2) or more employees qualify for an assignment under the priorities above, the District 46 will award the assignment on the basis of seniority. If a remote assignment is created and 47 assigned to an employee with the expectation that it will continue for the entire school year, the 48 District will not be required to reassign employees previously awarded such assignments in 1 order to accommodate remote assignments for other employees whose need for an alternative 2 assignment arises later in the school year.
