If the grievance is not settled in Step 1 and the Union decides to appeal, the Grievance Committee shall, within ten (10) calendar days from receipt of the Step 1 answer, appeal in writing to the Fire Chief. The Grievance Committee and the Fire Chief will discuss the grievance within thirtythirty (30) calendar days, at a mutually agreeable time. If no agreement is reached in such discussion, the Chief will give his answer in writing within ten (10) calendar days of the discussion.
