Applicability of Sinking Fund. (a) Redemption of Securities permitted or required pursuant to a sinking fund for the retirement of Securities of a series by the terms of such series of Securities shall be made in accordance with such terms of such series of Securities and this Article, except as otherwise specified pursuant to Section 3.01 for Securities of such series, provided, however, that if any such terms of a series of Securities shall conflict with any provision of this Article, the terms of such series shall govern.
Applicability of Sinking Fund. Redemption of Securities permitted or required pursuant to a sinking fund for the retirement of Securities of a series by the terms of such series of Securities established pursuant to Section 3.01 shall be made in accordance with such terms of such series of Securities established pursuant to Section 3.01 and this Article IV; provided, however, that, notwithstanding anything to the contrary in this Article IV, if any such terms of a series of Securities shall conflict with any provision of this Article IV, the terms of such series shall govern. The minimum amount of any sinking fund payment provided for by the terms of Securities of any series is herein referred to as a “mandatory sinking fund payment,” and any payment in excess of such minimum amount provided for by the terms of Securities of any series is herein referred to as an “optional sinking fund payment.” If provided for by the terms of Securities of any series, the cash amount of any mandatory sinking fund payment may be subject to reduction as provided in Section 4.06.

Redemption of Debt Securities permitted or required pursuant to a sinking fund for the retirement of Debt Securities of a series shall be made in accordance with the applicable provisions of this Article, except as otherwise specified in the manner contemplated by Section 3.01 for Debt Securities of such series. The minimum amount of any sinking fund payment provided for by the terms of Debt Securities of any series is herein referred to as a "Mandatory Sinking Fund Payment", and any payment in excess of such minimum amount provided for by the terms of Debt Securities of any series is herein referred to as an "Optional Sinking Fund Payment". The cash amount of any Mandatory Sinking Fund Payment shall be subject to reduction as provided in Section 4.08.
