Application and Approval. (a) A teacher must make written application to the Executive Officer, Human Resources Services on or before January 31st, requesting permission to participate in the Plan. (b) Written acceptance, or denial, of the teacher's request, with explanation, will be forwarded to the teacher by May 1st in the school year the original request is made. (c) The number of leaves granted for any one year shall not exceed two percent (2%) of the number of teachers employed by the Board. (d) Approval of individual requests to participate in the Plan shall rest solely with the Board.
