Common use of Application to Layoff Clause in Contracts

Application to Layoff. Employees will not be entitled to paid holiday pay if they are on a layoff that exceeds eight (8) calendar days, or if they fail to work on a statutory holiday which he has been scheduled to work. The latter shall not apply to legitimate absences contemplated under this Agreement, e.g., illness or special leave.
