Appointment in Lieu of Chair Election. If, after reasonable effort, a chair is not elected, the Vice President of Academic Affairs (VPAA) may, at his/her discretion, appoint a consenting contract faculty member from the department, a consenting contract faculty member from a different department, or an administrator as chair.
