Approval of Leave Requests. All requests for scheduled leave shall be submitted by security officers to the appropriate supervisor at least forty eight (48) hours prior to the date(s) of the leave. The Department of Public Safety shall provide a response to the employee within twenty-four (24) hours, or seventy-two (72) hours if the request is received on Friday or Saturday, from the time the request is received. Leave requests shall not be unreasonably denied. Requests for leave that are denied or approved shall be returned to the employee including explanation for denial.
