Common use of Article Rest Periods Clause in Contracts

Article Rest Periods. Employees shall be entitled to a paid rest period of fifteen consecutive minutes in both the first half and the second half of a seven and one-half hour shift. Other employees (including employees who work shifts in excess of seven and one-half hours shall be entitled to paid rest periods of fifteen minutes each for each four hours of work during their shift.

Employees required to remain on their work unit during unpaid meal periods will be paid at their regular straight time hourly rate.
