Assistance Unit (AU) Sample Clauses
The Assistance Unit (AU) clause defines the group of individuals within a household whose income and resources are considered together when determining eligibility for certain public assistance programs. Typically, this includes immediate family members such as parents and their children living in the same home, but may also extend to other relatives or dependents as specified by program rules. By clearly identifying whose financial information is counted, the clause ensures accurate assessment of need and prevents both under- and over-allocation of benefits.
