ATHLETE OBLIGATIONS. The Athlete shall: (a) be a fully registered member in good standing of OUSA (this means the Athlete must register and pay all OUSA membership fees on a yearly basis); (b) commit to training consistently and well with the goal of an excellent personal performance at events including the WOC, the WUOC, the WC or other International event(s); (c) have a personal coach (the ESC will assist team members who have difficulty finding a coach); (d) maintain an annual plan that is reviewed by the personal coach on a regular basis; a copy of said plan will be submitted to the designated ESC member for review, preferably within 2 weeks of submitting this Athlete Agreement; (e) log training on Attackpoint, making the log accessible to at least the personal coach; (f) notify OUSA immediately, in writing of any injury or other legitimate reason that will prevent the Athlete from competing at the 2017 WOC, WUOC, or WC event if the Athlete has been selected to compete at one or more of these events. Provide as much notice as possible so that there is the opportunity for alternates to make the necessary arrangements to compete; (g) understand that after committing to a position on any of the WOC, WUOC, WC or other international event, the Athlete is liable for costs incurred by OUSA for the Athlete’s registration and other arrangements made by OUSA, even if the Athlete is unable to attend the event. (h) provide OUSA with current contact information so that the Athlete can be reached throughout the year; (i) respond to communication and requests from OUSA in a timely manner and pay all OUSA invoices in a timely manner; timely manner being that specified in the request or communication. (j) avoid any action or conduct that would reasonably be expected to significantly disrupt or interfere with a competition or the preparation for a competition of any Athlete; (k) abide by OUSA Rules and Code of Conduct (section 3 below); (l) avoid the use of banned drugs in contravention of the rules of WADA (World Anti Doping Administration), USADA and any other authority deemed appropriate by IOF and OUSA. (m) dress in the current National Team uniform when participating in designated National Team activities; the current National Team uniform shall not be sold, loaned, traded or otherwise mishandled or changed without the permission of OUSA. The Athlete must have the mandatory team gear (currently the shirt, pants or tights, socks, and warm-up) from when the uniform is delivered until the end of that year. If the Athlete wants to trade part of their uniform away, it must be a non- mandatory item or a duplicate item that the Athlete has purchased. The National Team uniform may be loaned to members of the current year's National/Junior National Team if needed; (n) dress in the current National Team uniform or any other official clothing during competition days of IOF sanctioned competitions (WRE, WOC, WUOC, WC), the United States Orienteering Championships, and the North American Orienteering Championships; club uniforms may be worn for all other competitions and training; club uniforms may be worn in US Relay Championships. (o) refrain from wearing the uniforms of any other national team when participating in any designated activities, including IOF sanctioned events (WRE, WOC, WC), the United States Orienteering Championships, NAOC, official marketing activities and media appearances on behalf of OUSA; (p) make a concerted effort to attend and compete at US Orienteering Championships and North American Orienteering Championships (in other words, we would like you to prioritize the US Championships and NAOC on your competition list and attend if your schedule and finances permit); (q) take an active role in communication projects regarding the national team i.e. team photos, ONA, team thank-you letters, press conferences, national team blog postings; such activities may be reasonably requested by OUSA, where the scheduling does not unreasonably interfere with the Athlete’s training, competition, employment or education; (r) actively participate in fundraising efforts for the Team fund. An Athlete may choose to fundraise for him/ herself. Money raised during fundraising efforts that are billed as fundraisers for the national teams, must be forwarded to the OUSA; (s) ensure that OUSA is party to all endorsement and sponsorship contracts and contracts with agents entered into by the Athlete; this excludes any personal endorsement for the Athlete as an individual with no connection to the sport of orienteering or the National Orienteering Team; (t) utilize the grievance procedure referred to in paragraph 1 (e) for the remedy of complaints and issues especially where the situation involves the conduct or performance of OUSA volunteers or staff or coaches; (u) provide regular feedback to the ESC on issues facing the National Team; (v) attend race banquets and award ceremonies where possible; (w) be responsible for providing personal travel health insurance.

ATHLETE OBLIGATIONS. The Athlete shallAs a selected Xxxxxxx, I undertake and agree during the period of the Agreement to: (a) be a fully registered member in good standing 4.1 remain under the control, management and direction of OUSA (this means the Athlete must register and pay Team Manager, or any person appointed by them and, to comply with all OUSA membership fees on a yearly basis)reasonable orders given by them, or any other duly appointed person; (b) commit 4.2 conduct myself in a proper manner to training consistently the absolute satisfaction of the Team Manager and, if I do not do so, I acknowledge that this Agreement may be terminated by SLSSA under clause 12 and well with that I will automatically be withdrawn from the goal Team and be required to immediately leave the event and return to my usual place of an excellent personal performance at events including the WOC, the WUOC, the WC or other International event(s)residence; (c) have a personal coach (4.3 travel to and from the ESC will assist team members who have difficulty finding a coach)event upon the dates and in the manner determined and arranged by XXXXX; (d) maintain an annual plan that is reviewed 4.4 stay in the accommodation determined and arranged by XXXXX during the personal coach on a regular basis; a copy of said plan will be submitted to the designated ESC member for review, preferably within 2 weeks of submitting this Athlete Agreementevent; (e) log training on Attackpoint, making 4.5 train and condition as per the log accessible instructions from the Head Coach to at least the personal coach; (f) notify OUSA immediately, in writing of any injury or other legitimate reason that will prevent the Athlete from competing at the 2017 WOC, WUOC, or WC event if the Athlete has been selected to compete at one or more of these events. Provide as much notice as possible so that there is the opportunity for alternates to make the necessary arrangements enable me to compete; (g) understand 4.6 compete at the event; 4.7 disclose immediately to the Coach any illness and/or injury that after committing may prejudice my proper participation at the event; 4.8 on the occasions prescribed by the Team Manager wear only the clothing issued by SLSSA or the competition organisers and to a position on any wear the uniform prescribed by SLSSA or the competition organisers for athletes at the event; 4.9 not without the prior approval of the WOC, WUOC, WC Team Manager and then only in the presence of the Coach or other international appointed person, supply any information to the media, including social media for the purpose of use by or in the media whether spoken or written and that I will not without the prior approval of the Team Manager and or SLSSA conduct any interviews to the media or place information on social media platforms; 4.10 attend all relevant training and other activities arranged by the Team Management and or Head Coach, unless otherwise excused. This includes all group and individual activities arranged and detailed in the schedule of activities and events. These will be detailed in the schedule and will include such things as availability for State Team selection, commitment to SLSSA events and carnivals as well as Australian Championships. Attend media conferences, promotions, displays and other activities arranged by the organisers of the event if endorsed by Team Management unless otherwise excused; 4.11 not consume nor encourage the consumption of drugs, stimulants or other substances with a view to modifying or altering my growth or performance and to abide by the Anti- Doping Policy of SLSA and the ILS as amended from time to time; 4.12 not consume alcohol or illegal drugs for the period, from the commencement of travel to the event, the Athlete is liable for costs incurred by OUSA for the Athlete’s registration and other arrangements made by OUSA, even if the Athlete is unable to attend the event. (h) provide OUSA with current contact information so that the Athlete can be reached throughout the year; (i) respond to communication and requests from OUSA in a timely manner and pay all OUSA invoices in a timely manner; timely manner being that specified in the request or communication. (j) avoid any action or conduct that would reasonably be expected to significantly disrupt or interfere with a competition or the preparation for a competition of any Athlete; (k) abide by OUSA Rules and Code of Conduct (section 3 below); (l) avoid the use of banned drugs in contravention of the rules of WADA (World Anti Doping Administration), USADA and any other authority deemed appropriate by IOF and OUSA. (m) dress in the current National Team uniform when participating in designated National Team activities; the current National Team uniform shall not be sold, loaned, traded or otherwise mishandled or changed without the permission of OUSA. The Athlete must have the mandatory team gear (currently the shirt, pants or tights, socks, and warm-up) from when the uniform is delivered until the end of this Agreement in accordance with clause 3, including when travelling to and from the event and during the event other than with the consent of an SLSSA nominee; 4.13 not participate in any type of demonstrations or propaganda whether political, religious, or racial or in any activity which would tend to reduce the reputation of SLSSA or bring the brand of SLS or the event into disrepute or public ridicule; 4.14 not accept, give or be involved in any way in any inducement or bribe in relation to my performance in the event, or the performance of any other athlete at the event; 4.15 supply my own competition equipment and craft to be used in the event. Such equipment must comply with SLSA competition specifications and I will pay for any equipment freight expenses that yearmay occur. 4.16 observe and comply with the rules, regulations and policies of the event and of behaviour as laid down, issued or determined by SLSA including SLSA’s Code of Conduct; and 4.17 to be a full financial member of the team, by paying or having sorted a payment plan for all invoice expenses by the due date. If my entry to the Athlete wants event is found to trade part be ineligible under the rules and regulations of their uniform awaySLSA or ILS, it must be a non- mandatory item or a duplicate item that the Athlete has purchased. The National Team uniform I acknowledge this Agreement may be loaned terminated by SLSSA under clause 12 and that I will automatically be withdrawn from the Team and will be required to members immediately leave the event and return to my usual place of residence. If in the opinion of the current year's National/Junior National Team if needed; (n) dress in Head Coach and after consultation with the current National Team uniform Management Group and independent medical professional, I am unable to perform at the event to the best of my ability due to injury, illness or any other official clothing during competition days of IOF sanctioned competitions (WREincapacity, WOC, WUOC, WC), the United States Orienteering Championships, and the North American Orienteering Championships; club uniforms I acknowledge that this Agreement may be worn for all other competitions terminated by SLSSA under clause 12 and training; club uniforms that I will automatically be withdrawn from the Team and may be worn in US Relay Championshipsrequired to immediately leave the event and return to my usual place of residence. The National Team uniform may be loaned to members of the current year's National/Junior National Team if neededrequired; (nk) dress in the current National Team uniform or any other official clothing during official training and model events and competition days of any IOF sanctioned competitions (WRE, WOC, WUOC, WC), the United States Orienteering Championships, and the North American Canadian Orienteering Championships; club uniforms may be worn for all other competitions competition and training; club uniforms may be worn in US Relay Championships.training including non-championship and relay events during the COC week (see Section 4); (ol) refrain from wearing the uniforms of any other national team when participating in any designated activities, including IOF sanctioned events (WRE, WOC, WC)events, the United States Canadian Orienteering Championships, NAOC, official marketing activities and media appearances on behalf of OUSACOF; (pm) make a concerted solid effort to attend and compete at US the Canadian Orienteering Championships and North American Orienteering Championships (in other words, we would like you to prioritize the US Championships COCs and NAOC on your competition list and attend if your schedule and finances permit); (qn) take an active role in communication projects regarding the national team i.e. team photos, ONACOF Newsletter, team thank-you letters, press conferences, national team blog postings; such activities may be reasonably requested by OUSAthe COF, where the scheduling does not unreasonably interfere with the Athlete’s training, competition, employment or and education; (ro) actively participate in fundraising efforts for the Team fundHigh Performance Program Fund. An Athlete may choose to fundraise for him/ him/herself. Money raised during fundraising efforts that are billed as fundraisers for the HPP, the COF or the national teams, must be forwarded to the OUSACOF; (sp) ensure that OUSA the COF is party to all endorsement and sponsorship contracts and contracts with agents entered into by the Athlete; this excludes any personal endorsement for the Athlete as an individual with no connection to the sport of orienteering or the National Orienteering Team; (tq) utilize the grievance hearing and appeal procedure referred to in paragraph 1 (e) for the remedy of complaints and issues especially where the situation involves the conduct or performance of OUSA COF volunteers or staff or coaches; (ur) provide regular feedback to the ESC Athletes’ Representative on issues facing the National Team; (vs) attend race banquets and award ceremonies where possible; (wt) be responsible for providing personal travel health insurance.
