AUTHORITY OF MASTER. 2.1 The Union agrees that the Master of the vessel has the exclusive right to direct the crew and to hire, promote, demote, transfer, lay off, suspend or discharge employees and that such hours shall be worked at sea and in port, as shall be directed by the Master or his deputy.
