Authority to fill a vacancy in the full or part-time professional library staff is granted by the Corporation on recommendation of the University Librarian. When a librarian position becomes vacant or a new position is to be requested, the librarian Members shall put forth to the University Librarian a proposal outlining the type and rank of appointment that is to be filled. This proposal will then be discussed at a meeting of all the librarian Members and the University Librarian.

Following the approval by the Corporation, the Xxxx will convene a meeting of continuing Full-Time members of the program or department to draft the advertisement for the approved Tenure-Track or Limited-Term appointment. Academic units must submit all postings to the office of the Vice-Principal Academic & Research for approval and distribution. The office of the Vice-Principal Academic & Research will ensure that advertisements include equity language, and that advertisements are placed in venues intended to all reach prospective candidates.
