Common use of Available for Call Clause in Contracts

Available for Call. When, by mutual consent, an employee is available to be called for overtime and may carry an electronic pager or telephone for that purpose, no additional compensation is paid except as per Section 9.03 (Call-Back Minimum Pay) or other agreement between the Employer and the Union. Employees “available for call” make their best effort to be available but are not subject to any disciplinary or adverse actions if they are unable to respond.
