Common use of BALANCING ASSIGNED AND ACTUAL INSTRUCTIONAL WORKLOAD Clause in Contracts

BALANCING ASSIGNED AND ACTUAL INSTRUCTIONAL WORKLOAD. Because the annual workload assignment for instruction is expressed as a workload hour total and not a course total, individual faculty members may exceed or fall slightly below their assigned number of instructional workload hours in any given academic year. Therefore, faculty members may accumulate either surplus or debit hours based on the difference between the assigned and actual number of hours taught in an academic year.
