Booking Vacation. The Employer will endeavour to grant vacations, both paid and unpaid, at the time requested, in the vacation season or period considering operational requirements. As a guideline, employees with the most seniority will have first choice of the time to be granted off. Vacation weeks shall be taken consecutively unless the employee and the Employer agree to other arrangements.
Booking Vacation. All employeesmay request vacation time off during annual vacation sign up period between May 1st and through the end of May. Seniority shall govern the choice of vacation time off for the next school year. Each employee once canvassed, by order of seniority, shall be given 48 hours to submit his/her choice of dates for his/her vacation. Canvassing of employees will begin no later than the week of January 15th of each year. In Packaging, this canvassing will be done in bigger blocks of employees as agreed between the Company and the Union. (iii.) If the employee has not submitted his choice of dates within 48 hours of being canvassed, he loses any preference he may have had due to his seniority. The employee should submit his choice of dates as soon as possible to facilitate the preparation of the vacation schedule. One week’s vacation takes preference over one day vacation for any open weeks.
