Common use of Broader Insurance Coverage Clause in Contracts

Broader Insurance Coverage. In the event that Contractor maintains broader coverage and/or higher limits than the City’s minimum requirements, the City requires and shall be entitled to the broader coverage and/or the higher limits maintained by the Contractor. The limits of insurance required in this agreement may be satisfied by a combination of primary and umbrella or excess insurance. Any umbrella or excess insurance shall contain or be endorsed to contain a provision that such coverage shall also apply on a primary and non-contributory basis for the benefit of the City before the City’s own insurance shall be called upon to protect it as a named insured.
