Budget Authority. Participants also have the opportunity to exercise choice and control over a specified amount of funds in a participant-directed budget. Under the budget authority, the participant has decision-making authority and management responsibility for the participant-directed budget from which the participant authorizes the purchase of long term care demonstration services and supports that are authorized in the person-centered service plan.
