Common use of Calculation of Harvest Rates Clause in Contracts

Calculation of Harvest Rates. The calculation of Harvest Rates for Timber harvested from respective Harvest Sites will be determined in accordance with the following formula: Harvest Rate = Base Rate + Add-On Rates The Base Rate and the Add-On Rates will be determined using the following process:  The Base Rate for each product from each Harvest Site is determined using the Base Rates table that is set out in Item 6(a) of Schedule 1 and selecting the rate applicable for each product from the relevant yield class of the Harvest Site.  Yield class will be estimated by VicForests prior to the Contractor commencing work at each Harvest Site. Harvest Site factors being slope, rock cover, snig distance and variable habitat retention will be estimated by VicForests (by measurement if necessary) in consultation with the Contractor prior to the Contractor commencing work at each Harvest Site.  If Harvest Site factors meet the criteria identified in the Rates Add-On Table in Item 6(b) of Schedule 1, then the appropriate Add-On Rates will be added to the Base Rate. If the Contractor is working in fire salvage stands, then add-on rates to apply will be negotiated by the Parties based on the levels detailed in Item 6(c) of Schedule 1 and agreed in writing.
