CARE OF YOUR CHROMEBOOK. The Chromebook and accessories are property of St. Xxxx Catholic School. The Chromebook is provided for the sole use of the student to which it is assigned. Do not loan out the Chromebook or charger/sync cable to other individuals. All users are expected to follow these care guidelines. Students are responsible for the general care of the Chromebook and accessories they have been issued by the schoolissued. Chromebooks that are broken, damaged or fail to work properly, properly must be submitted taken to the Technology Department Help Desk as soon as possible so that they can be taken care of properlyComputer Lab for an evaluation. General Care • Use only a soft, lint-free microfiber cloth to clean the screen. • Avoid getting moisture in openings. • Do not take district owned Chromebooks use any cleaners to an outside computer service for any type of repairs or maintenance. 3a: General Guidelines ● Chromebooks must have a Haverford School District identification on them at all times and this tag must not be removed or altered in any way. If tag is removed disciplinary action will result. ● No food or drink is allowed next to your Chromebook while it is in use. ● Cords, cables, and removable storage devices must be inserted carefully into clean the Chromebook. ● Never transport your Chromebook with the power cord plugged in. Never store your Chromebook in your carry case or backpack while plugged in. ● Students should never carry their Chromebooks while the screen is open. ● Chromebooks must remain free of any writing, drawing, or stickers ● Vents CANNOT be coveredstickers. Chromebooks should must never be left in a car unattended • Excessive pressure on the Chromebook trackpad/keyboard may cause damage. • Avoid touching the screen. • Wrap the charge/sync cable carefully when not used. • Chromebooks should not be near food and drink. • Keep your Chromebook out of extreme temperatures. • Keep your Chromebook off the floor where it could be stepped on or tripped over. • Do not bump or drop the Chromebook against hard surfaces. • Do not disassemble or attempt to do any unsupervised areaphysical repairs to the Chromebook. • Do not attempt to break any security protocols placed on the Chromebooks at anytime. Chromebook at school Chromebooks are intended for use at school each day. Students should bring their Chromebook to all classes, unless specifically instructed not to do so by their teacher. Chromebooks left at home If students leaves their Chromebook at home, they are responsible for bringing completely getting the coursework completed as if they had their Chromebook present. If a student repeatedly leaves his or her Chromebook at home, he or she will be subject to appropriate disciplinary action. Students may also face restrictions or loss of Chromebook privileges. Chromebook undergoing repair Loaner Chromebook may be issued to students whose machine is being repaired. All loner Chromebooks will be loaned out through the Computer Lab. Charging your Chromebook’s battery Chromebook should be charged Chromebooks for use to full capacity each school dayday before they are brought to school. 3b: Carrying Chromebooks ● Transport Chromebooks with careThis is a required expectation. ● Chromebook lids should always be closed and tightly secured when moving. ● Never move a Chromebook by lifting from the screen. Always support a Chromebook from its bottom with lid closed 3c: Screen Care Chromebook screens can be easily damaged! The screens are particularly sensitive to damage from excessive pressure on the screen. ● Do not lean or put pressure on the top of the Chromebook when it is closed. ● Do not store the Chromebook with the screen Repeated violations will result in the open position. ● Do not place anything near the Chromebook that could put pressure on the screen. ● Do not place anything in a carrying case or backpack that will press against the cover. ● Do not poke the screen with anything that will mark or scratch the screen surface. ● Do not place anything on the keyboard before closing the lid (e.g. pens, pencils, or disks). ● Do not place the device near magnets or anything with high electric currentappropriate disciplinary action.
